October PSA: A number of free and low-cost resources are available to salon professionals and owners looking to help clients and others facing domestic violence.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a reminder that professionals in the beauty industry are uniquely positioned to recognize the signs and symptoms of domestic abuse in clients and co-workers.
Because of the intimate and nurturing nature of the relationship with clients, beauty and grooming professionals can often spot subtle signs that someone may be in an abusive relationship or living conditions.
Recognizing the signs, and being able to recommend avenues for help, can literally save lives.
Here are some of the available resources for the beauty industry.
