Look Good Feel Better has teamed up with JCPenney for its first-ever retail partnership offering free workshops for patients undergoing and recovering from cancer treatment. The program will bring the nonprofit’s beauty, grooming, and style outreach to participants in select JCPenney stores nationwide, starting in 10 cities.
Certified JCPenney Salon professionals lead the sessions, which include hands-on guidance and a free styling kit with products from leading brands. Workshops are offered in English and Spanish, and designed to support cancer patients currently or recently in treatment.
They cover topics including skincare, hair and scalp care, makeup application, wig and scarf styling, and personal grooming.
Louanne Roark, executive director of the Look Good Feel Better Foundation, says the nonprofit's work is "about more than just makeup. It’s about helping people reassert control at a time when so many things are out of their control," she says,
"With JCPenney stores now offering Look Good Feel Better workshops, we are truly realizing our mission to meet and serve people with cancer wherever they are.”
The program will roll out later this year in select markets, including New York, Nashville, Seattle-Tacoma, Houston, St. Louis, Dallas, Baltimore, Denver, Rochester MN, and Dayton OH.
“I have seen firsthand how Look Good Feel Better workshops create connection, offer a space to learn and share, and deliver a dose of magic to help people in cancer treatment feel just a little bit more like themselves,” says Jo Osborne, JCPenney’s Senior VP of Beauty.
Look Good Feel Better recently raised nearly $1 million at its annual BeautyCares DreamBall Gala.
For more than 35 years, the organization has helped more than 3 million cancer survivors worldwide through its immersive beauty and styling program, always free of charge.
